GILROY, CA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Great Big BOO at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme park has become one of the Bay Area’s most popular family-friendly Halloween events and will be returning on select evenings from September 25 through November 1. During this immersive experience, guests enter the world of BOO Alley to enjoy live musical shows, interactive challenges, the park’s rides all lit up at night, and fun food and drinks throughout the park.
Families are encouraged to come in costume to enjoy fun, safe trick-or-treating along the BOO Trail. Live entertainment includes the sing-and-dance-along musical show, The Great Big BOO, in addition to pop-up performances and character interactions throughout the park. Other themed attractions include Wendella’s House on the Hill, Wolfgang’s Rockin’ Ride, and the BOO Train, as well as Halloween-inspired light displays and the BOO Alley Light Tunnel.
NEW in 2026 are interactive Pumpkin Wands (available for purchase) that unlock secret clues at 8 BOO Stations throughout the park. The letters spell out a message that can help save Halloween from the curse of Wendella the Witch. Children who solve the puzzle can claim a special “I Saved Halloween!” sticker.
The heart of the celebration is Downtown BOO Alley, which features a giant pumpkin pyramid, fun family games, and festive food and drinks for the whole family to enjoy—including Loaded Jumbo Potatoes, Apple Pumpkin Spice Funnel Cake, Return of the Mummy Hot Dogs, “spooky” cocktails for adults, and kid-friendly drinks with a magical twist. Guests can also stop by Sammy Jo Scarecrow’s Pumpkin Patch as they exit the park to pick out the perfect pumpkin to take home (not included with park admission).
Gilroy Gardens President and General Manager Hoa Minh Le stated, “We can’t wait to welcome families back to The Great Big BOO! It’s great to see everyone dressed up in costume, and we love creating new tricks and treats for our guests to enjoy each year. It’s not too spooky, mostly silly, and lots of fun for all ages!”
Gilroy Gardens Premium Members get free admission to The Great Big BOO and other Signature Events all year long. 2027 Premium Memberships are now on sale and include unlimited admission, free parking, and other membership benefits for the rest of 2026 and all of 2027.
During opening weekend only (September 25, 26 and 27), residents of Gilroy are invited to attend for just $12 admission plus $12 parking. Residents of neighboring cities (Morgan Hill, San Martin, Hollister, Watsonville and Salinas) can purchase $15 tickets and $15 parking. Proof of residency must be presented at the front gate.
